You can access the full-text databases of JSTORand EBSCO's MasterFILE Premier when you are hooked up to the Wi-Fi system on your laptop in the Library, or at one of our dedicated computer stations. You can download selections from the databases to your laptop's hard drive or USB key. Also take a moment to browse NoveList an electronic readers' advisory resource which assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles. Active members of the Library can access these resources from the comfort of home.

The purchase of these databases is made possible by a special collections grant from the Search Foundation, whose generosity also extends to supporting our book purchases and periodical subscriptions. JSTORJSTOR's "Public Library Collection I" features more than 1,500 titles across approximately forty disciplines. Extensive coverage of art and art history, architecture, business, history, language and literature, music, philosophy, and religion is included, as well as rare American Art periodicals from the 19th and early 20th century digitized as a special project with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Collection, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Coverage of economics, business administration, finance, public administration, business history, accounting, management, and marketing is also provided. Arts & Sciences IEstablished in 1997, JSTOR's first collection includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Overall, there are 118 titles in twenty one disciplines. Notable titles include American Historical Review, American Journal of Mathematics, American Political Science Review and William and Mary Quarterly. More information. Arts & Sciences IIThe Arts & Sciences II Collection is home to 128 titles. This collection adds depth to many disciplines introduced in Arts & Sciences I, such as economics, history, and Asian studies. Arts & Sciences II also offers core journals in several new disciplines, such as archaeology, classics, and African, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Slavic studies. Notable titles include American Anthropologist, American Journal of Archaeology, Classical Review, and International Affairs. More information. Arts & Sciences IIIArts & Sciences III includes journals in languages and literature, as well as essential titles in the fields of music, film studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, and the history and study of art and architecture. There are 151 titles in this collection. Notable titles include Contemporary Literature, Jewish Quarterly Review, Journal of Biblical Literature, Journal of the Royal Musical Association, Musical Quarterly, PMLA, and The Burlington Magazine. More information. Arts & Sciences IVThis collection has a strong focus on the professions of business, education, and law, and also includes titles in psychology and public policy and administration. There are 112 titles in this collection. Notable titles include Academy of Management Review, American Journal of Psychology, Harvard Law Review, and Public Administration Review. More information. Arts & Sciences VThis collection builds on previously introduced disciplines, adding important literary reviews and state historical journals. It will also widen the scope of core disciplines in the arts and humanities, such as philosophy, history, classics, religion, art and art history, and language and literature. When complete, the collection will number at least 120 titles. Notable titles include Hudson Review, Kenyon Review, Massachusetts Historical Review, Historica Mexicana, Revue D'Histoire Moderne et Contemporaine and Zeitschrift fur philosophische Forschung. NoveListNoveList is an electronic readers' advisory resource which assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles. Three powerful search techniques allow readers to look for books by entering descriptive terms that appear in subject headings, reviews, and other fields in the title records. NoveList also features Advanced Natural Language searching and Boolean searching, providing full-text searching of reviews to Describe a Plot. Users can browse theme-oriented book lists at every reading level through Explore Fiction, and look for outstanding titles in Best Fiction. Many title records have direct links to Web sites with information about the author or teacher resource materials.
